Steven started practising yoga in 2013 after a personal trainer suggested he should include simple stretches as part of his routine. After moving to Shanghai, he spent several years as a student at PURE Yoga, learning from teachers such as Chops Hsu, Julia Cui, Lina Zapata, and Ocean Liang. Steven began going to yoga classes as often as he could, and while he was first interested in the physical shapes of yoga, he quickly learned that the other aspects of yoga such as pranayama, meditation, and relaxation could be just as powerful in supporting good mental health. 

Steven completed the Jivamukti teacher training and mentorship programme in November 2017 and since then, he has taught public, private, and corporate yoga classes throughout Northern Ireland. Steven is grateful to many teachers including Sharon Gannon and Yogeswari for their insightful teachings, and to his mentor Maria Macaya for guiding him into the seat of a teacher. 

Steven’s yoga classes are fluid, breath-led, and incorporate asana, pranayama, and meditation. His classes aim to make you feel physically stronger as well as experience how yoga practices can be beneficially integrated into everyday life. Yoga is a personal practice and Steven encourages students to find and adapt the practices to suit their individual needs. Steven believes yoga is powerful in its simplicity and anyone with a genuine interest in yoga can benefit greatly from the teachings.
