CET Programme:

Session 1 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: MY POSTPARTUM BODY: SELF-CARE BASICS
21 SEPTEMBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM (2.5 hours) Asia Standard Tower
This workshop is for the postpartum woman who wants to know how to check if and how much her abdominal muscles have separated during pregnancy, a condition known as diastasis recti; how to correctly engage her core muscles; and to re-orient with her pelvic floor post-birth or cesarean. Basic modifications for general yoga poses will also be covered.

Session 2 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: PRE-NATAL LECTURE: ANATOMY OF BIRTH
28 SEPTEMBER 2019 8:45AM – 10:15AM (1.5 hours) Asia Standard Tower
This lecture covers the anatomy of birth and labour. Both factual and empowering, an in-depth exploration into the anatomy of birth allows for a deeper understanding of the physical process of birth. It helps you to have clearer expectations during birth and labour, which in turn, can give you more confidence in dealing with what may come up during birth and identifying what options are available.

Session 3 - TECHNIQUE, TRAINING & PRACTICE PRE-NATAL CET WORKSHOP: YOGA POSES TO TURN BREECH BABIES
5 OCTOBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM 2.5 hours (Asia Standard Tower)
Are inversions such as downward dog the main poses you use to turn breech babies? Learn about different types of breech babies and how to help the baby turn with the most appropriate yoga poses. This session provides a chance to assess which poses are needed for different situations and includes practicum – practise teaching different sequences for different breech positions. Learn what key factors are at play, how yoga poses can help, and when external professional assistance is recommended.

Session 4 - TECHNIQUE, TRAINING & PRACTICE PRE-NATAL CET WORKSHOP: MODIFY YOGA POSES DURING PREGNANCY
12 OCTOBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM (2.5 hours) Asia Standard Tower
Learn a simple formula that helps you modify any yoga pose to one that suits a pregnant body.
Common questions that arise during yoga practice whilst pregnant: Are twists safe? What about inversions? Deep backbends? How do you find out what is right for you and your body, and what is not? This workshop helps to dispel myths and clarify facts, giving you the tools to educate and learn for yourself what suits you.

Session 5 - TECHNIQUE, TRAINING & PRACTICE PRE-NATAL CET WORKSHOP: TEACHING A PRE-NATAL YOGA CLASS
26 OCTOBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM (2.5 hours) Asia Standard Tower
Teaching pre-natal poses is only one part of a pre-natal yoga class. Learn how to create an environment fully focused on the pre-natal experience. Learn how to develop themes and weave them into your classes; how to create a space of community; and how to guide women to connect with their babies and bodies. Includes practicum.

Session 6 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: MY POSTPARTUM BODY: PELVIC FLOOR: IT’S A MYSTERY DOWN THERE!
2 NOVEMBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM (2.5 hours) Asia Standard Tower
This workshop is for the postpartum woman who wants to know more about her own female anatomy. How well do you know your pelvic floor? Are Kegels suitable? Do you or know someone who experiences urinary incontinence? Haemorroids? Painful sex? These are common pain points post-pregnancy and birth that are often not discussed. This workshop includes lecture on anatomy and vaginal care. Learn holistic self-care practices to take care of your most private feminine parts. For women only.

Session 7 - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: MY POSTPARTUM BODY: SCARS: HOW TO HEAL
9 NOVEMBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM 2.5 hours (Asia Standard Tower)
Studies show that the caesarean rates in China stand at 47% of its births, in Hong Kong at 41%. The rate of episiotomies for first-time mothers in Hong Kong public hospitals as of 2006 is 86%. With such statistics, abdominal and pelvic floor scars are common amongst us.
As these wounds heal, they become scar tissue, which can range from soft and supple tissue to tough clusters of fibroid tissue. Some symptoms of these tough clusters include numbness, tingly sensations, tugging, or sharp pains around the area. Multiple cesareans or in some serious cases, four-point tears, even radiation scars from cervical cancer, are often not properly addressed.
This workshop is for us to learn hands-on techniques to dissolve our hardened scar tissue for optimal healing. For women only.

Session 8 ( Same as Session 1) - ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: MY POSTPARTUM BODY: SELF-CARE BASICS
16 NOVEMBER 2019 1:00PM – 3:30PM (2.5 hours) Pacific Place

Session 10 - PRE-NATAL WORKSHOP: PARTNERS IN LABOUR AND BIRTH

Although birthing is natural, it helps to know how nature works and what we can do that may help nature to work more efficiently. Ladies, this workshop is for your partners to learn how they can support us during the last trimester and birth. There is a short lecture on anatomy and lots of hands-on practice with partners. Learn about how to use yoga poses and props to maximise the efficiency of your labour.
For couples only.
